Body Piercing Aftercare
1 - Clean the area twice a day with unscented dial soap and water.
2 - After you clean it, put a dab of neosporin or triple antibiotic ointment on a q-tip and go around the piercing.
3 - Do not use alcohol or peroxide on the piercing while it is healing. It drys them out and kills new skin cells trying to grow. ( Alcohol or peroxide is for infections only. )
4 - Do not submerge the piercing for 2 weeks. Showers are fine, everything else is a no. ( no swimming, bubble baths, soaking in the tub. )
5 - Wait at least 3 weeks before trying to change the jewelry. If everything is healing good and nothing funky is going on ( no redness, soreness, leaking fluids ) you can put whatever you want in.
6 - If at any point during the healing the jewelry looks "tight" or is "sinking in" to the area, let us know and we will get you in as soon as possible to put a longer bar or stud in to alleviate the pressure and help mitigate future issues during healing.
7 - This one is not mandatory but is recommended, for the first 2 weeks a sea salt soak once a day is awesome for healing and helping with irritation. Simply mix 1 teaspoon of non iodized sea salt to 1 cup of warm water and soak a cotton ball in it. Hold that cotton ball on the piercing for up to 5 minutes and rinse well with clean water when done.
Oral Piercing Aftercare
1 - Wash the outside of the piercing twice a day with unscented dial soap and water.
2 - After you eat, drink, smoke, vape or do anything with your mouth ( we don't judge ) . Use a NON- alcohol mouthwash and rinse your mouth out.
3 - Try to avoid spicy foods and dairy for 2 weeks. Spicy food can irritate and dairy can potentially have bacteria that can cause issues.
4 - For tongue piercings, swelling is normal the first couple of days. Ibuprofin as directed, crushed ice and popsicles are great to help alleviate this. Be mindful of pastas, noodles thing that can become wrapped around the piercing and cause a gagging or choking hazard until you get used to having a piercing there.
5 - For the first 2 weeks a sea salt soak once a day is awesome for healing and helping with irritation. Simply mix 1 teaspoon of non iodized sea salt to 1 cup of warm water and soak a cotton ball in it. Hold that cotton ball on the outside of the piercing for up to 5 minutes and rinse well with clean water when done. Take the remaining solution and rinse your mouth with it.
6 - Wait at least 3 weeks and if everything is healing nice and nothing funky going on ( no infection, redness, sore, etc.. ) you can put what ever jewelry you want in.
These are the general guidelines for piercings. Main points are keep it clean, Leave it alone and your body will heal. Check the tightness of any beads or balls during cleaning. A little common sense goes a long way, if it hurts, don't do it. If you notice any signs of infection ( severe swelling, pus drainage, bleeding non stop ) seek medical advice. We only pierce with surgical stainless ( or titanium if needed ). Metal allergy to surgical stainless is rare. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact us and we will try to assist as much as we can.
